Jonathan
Officially, Jonathan is a subtitles translator for film and TV. Unofficially, he’s a damn good baker. It all started during Covid when he took a career detour and turned his obsession into a job. Three years later, he launched The Baking Club , a series of workshops for home bakers in Brussels, where Jonathan teaches participants how to make bakery-level breads and pastries at home.
Jonathan does it all: he designs the workshops, handles the marketing, and hosts the classes. Any freelancer knows it’s not easy to put your creations out there, so nothing excites him more than seeing someone else get excited over what he’s made. For him, word of mouth is the best marketing tool by far and Brussels is perfect for it. “There’s so much cool stuff going on, it’s all very indie and grassroots, and you have to keep your ear to the ground. It can be frustrating if you’re new in town, but to me, it feels like Brussels is one big village.”
Why Palazzo? he says he loves the big, open space and laid-back atmosphere. It gives a sense of connection, and the little interactions with other members over coffee or lunch make a big difference.” He also loves that Palazzo is more than just office space. There are parties, stand-up nights, and yoga classes. There’s always something interesting going on, so it really feels like a home for the creative community.
And we love Jonathan – especially when he needs us to test his new batch of cinnamon rolls
