Daphné Laure
Daphné is a French author and illustrator based at Palazzo. After studying woodcarving in Paris, she moved to Brussels for a master’s in comics and publishing. Passionate about expeditions, she traveled to Antarctica to deliver wooden sculptures for the French-Italian Concordia Station—an adventure that inspired her first graphic novel.
She believes the best stories come from firsthand experience. Specializing in science popularization and autobiographical fiction, she’s always ready to document a sailing trip, railroad journey, or even a mission to Mars—sketchbook and watercolors in hand.
At Palazzo, she enjoys the peaceful, creative atmosphere that makes the long process of creating comics a little easier. But first things first: she brought her own carpet and comfy chair—because drawing should always be cozy.
Her graphic novel on her Antarctic journey will be published in 2026 by @les_arenes. Follow @padhen_draws for more on polar science, penguins, and life at the edge of the world.
