Working solo from home can be isolating and redundant: lack of inspiration, no dedicated workspace, and rare moments of connection. So Palazzo was created with a simple mission: to give creative freelancers a space that feels like home, with the added inspiration, support, and connection they need to thrive. Palazzo strives to offer a welcoming workspace where each person can find comfort, focus & great company, break the cycle of freelance-isolation and ultimately feel happier every day.
Since opening in April 2019, Palazzo has grown into a vibrant community made up of designers, film producers, activists, architects, writers, DJs, illustrators, tattoo artists, painters…just to name a few. Every member works on their own projects, but all enjoy the dynamic and supportive environment that collectivity provides.
Palazzo’s founder, Louise, is a graphic designer turned entrepreneur from Brussels. After years of freelancing, she struggled with many of the same issues that other creatives face. So she started exploring coworking spaces in Brussels, but soon found there was a clear gap in the market for creatives like her. In fact, coworking spaces often cater to a corporate, affluent crowd, while artists tend to work in more affordable but uncomfortable and isolated spaces. Neither felt like the right fit for her. What she really wanted was a space that struck a balance: a comfortable, inspiring, and affordable place designed for creatives that also provided essential services.
After a year of searching, Louise stumbled upon an old garage in Saint-Gilles that had huge potential. Thanks to the spectacular renovations by the building’s owners Ariane Marchant & Vincent Marchand, and with support from her network, they transformed it into what is now Palazzo Creative Workspace.
Palazzo also doubles as a hub for cultural events, adding some fun to the coworking experience. The ground floor is available for private rentals, hosting events like conferences, film screenings, workshops and concerts.
Every Wednesday, Palazzo hosts In the Mood for Nudes, a freestyle life-drawing workshop open to everyone, whether you’re a professional artist or just want to give it a try.
We also have rich partnerships with La Tricoterie, Hors Norme, Das Haus and La Forestière.
